Breast Cancer Metastasis May Involve Unique Stem Cell Expressions in Vertebrae

According to a study published by researchers from Weill Cornell College of Medicine in the journal Nature may shed light on the high propensity for spinal metastasis for cancers such as breast cancers. The study authors found that vertebral body stem cells secreted a specific protein, called MFGE8 which appears to attract circulating tumor cells.
